9/11 Ceremony
The City of Los Angeles is hosting a ceremony to commemorate the Tenth Anniversary of the September 11, 2001, tragedy.
The Community Policing Unit would like to extend an invitation to the C-PAB membership to attend the ceremony on September 9, 2011. Special acknowledgment will be given to LAPD officers who responded to New York to provide assistance after the tragedy, as well as to those which were members of the United States Armed Services on 9/11, or who joined an Armed Service post 9/11 and were subsequently deployed in Afghanistan or Iraq. In attendance will be Mayor Villaraigosa, Chief Beck, and the families of our own LAPD officers who lost their lives while on active military deployment, Officer R. J. Cottle and Officer Joshua J. Cullins; the families will lead the LAPD officers in attendance to the ceremony in front of the City Hall.
We encourage you to come and be part of this memorial event in remembrance of those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and to honor those which selflessly responded or courageously served in the defense of our county on or as result of that infamous day.
